    Crews fight ‘out of control fire’ in Geary County

    GEARY COUNTY ( KSNT ) – Fire crews in Geary County are working to put out an “out of control” fire just south of Junction City Friday afternoon.

    According to a spokeswoman with the Geary County Emergency Management Office, around 1:30 p.m., there was a report of an fire near Highway 77 and Skiddy West Road in Geary County. This comes as a county-wide burn ban is in place due to the current dry conditions.

    The spokeswoman told 27 News the cause of the fire and how much land has been impacted thus far is unknown. At this time, no residents have had to evacuate the area, but some homeowners are actively working to protect their homes from the wildfire.
