TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Topeka and parts of northeast Kansas are now under a red flag warning due to critical fire weather conditions.

At 3:05 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, the National Weather Service (NWS) of Topeka issued a red flag warning to be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. The red flag warning is in effect due to gusty winds, low humidity and dry fuel for fires. Wind is expected to be sustained at 15-20 mph from the southwest with gusts reaching 30 mph.
