Topeka burger restaurant closes for the last time

TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – A Topeka burger restaurant has closed its doors for the last time this October after serving the community for more than a decade.

The Burger Stand Topeka served its last customers after it shut down on Saturday, Oct. 26. The business previously announced it would be closing for good on social media at the beginning of the month.

27 News visited the business on its last day, speaking with Manager Hannah Garrard. She said her favorite memories at the restaurant are of hosting live bands and getting to know regulars.

“Of course, this week I’ve already cried my eyes out a million times with my coworkers because I love them so much!” Garrard said. “And so, we have made obviously plans to meet up on weekends when we can. We’ll miss you guys and I’m sad to see it go.”

Staff at the business are sad to see the Burger Stand close but plan to stay in touch moving forward. The Burger Stand was in business for 13 years before making the decision to close. It moved to the Brookwood Shopping Center in May 2021 after relocating from the College Hill area .
