    These Kansas community colleges ranked best in the country

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Two Kansas community colleges have been ranked among the best in the country.

    The personal finance website WalletHub has published its annual “Best & Worst Community Colleges” for 2024. Manhattan Area Technical College is ranked first, and Pratt Community College is ranked third out of 653 community colleges nationwide.

    In order to rank each of the 653 community colleges, WalletHub looked at 18 different metrics. They were then grouped into three categories: Cost & Financing, Education Outcomes, and Career Outcomes.

    While Manhattan came in 469 in Cost & Financing, it placed 4th in Education Outcomes and 6th in Career Outcomes, taking the number 1 spot. Pratt was ranked 210 in Cost & Financing, 56th in Education Outcomes, and 25th in Career Outcomes.

    Manhattan received high marks for its education and career outcomes, and student retention. Pratt received high marks for its staffing, high median income for graduates, and high grants and scholarship amounts.
