April 19, 2024 – Early voting for the $157 million bond for SSISD starts Monday, April 22, 2024 and continues through Tuesday, April 28, 2024. Election day for the bond is May 4, 2024. All voting for the SSISD bond election is conducted at the Sulphur Springs Independent School District Administration Building located at 631 Connally Street in Sulphur Springs.

Funeral Service for Sandra Kay Phillips, age 77, of Sulphur Springs will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Lewis officiating. Payton Hammons, Ryan Hammons, Ben Brown, Adam Peckham, Tim Sink and Brian Bell will be serving as pallbearers. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service and interment will follow the service at Rock Hill Cemetery in Yantis, TX.

Brand New Bois D’Arc Lake Opens in Fannin County
April 18, 2024 – The first new major reservoir in almost 30 years is now open almost a one-hour drive from Hopkins County. Bois D’Arc Lake is located 10 miles northeast of Bonham, not far from U.S. Highway 82. Frontier is unable to give KSST News any information on what is causing the trouble or when regular service might be restored.
