Petworth's Hook Hall Transformed Into Desert Oasis for Summer Fun

From ski chalet to Caribbean tropics — and most recently bursting with blush for the cherry blossoms — DC has enjoyed Park View/Petworth’s Hook Hall in a variety of themes since the once-iconic Peoples’ Drugstore was reimagined into a 13,500 square-foot multi-purpose venue in mid-2019.

Now, its latest transformation takes visitors to a lavish desert oasis. But don’t worry, this bohemian paradise isn’t arid and sandy. It’s charmingly filled with character and decorated cabanas!

Everyone is welcome, though this is a prime place for group gatherings. Themed indoor and outdoor private seating spaces can accommodate parties up to 10 with reservations for 2.5 hours to sip, snack, and socialize. Or, explore Hook Hall’s other charming new luxe lounges and retreats for larger parties to relax together.

Play the day away now that gatherings are a 'go' again, in one of seven private (reservation-only) cabanas lining the outdoor space, or escape the humidity in the six indoor desert huts on offer, to enjoy vacation-style table service, champagne, and contactless ordering. Or have just as much fun at a garden table scattered around Hook Hall's astroturfed backyard.

The massive, pet-friendly patio is the perfect place to enjoy DC’s fine warm weather in a desert-style respite, but the entire space — inside and out — is set up for game play and good times.

A variety of food options are available from the onsite Galley, as well as themed cocktails so delicious... you’ll be hooked!
