DC's favorite pro-tennis tournament is back, and it's bringing Nick and Coco back this summer, too.

2019 Citi Open men’s singles champion Nick Kyrgios and American teen sensation/2019 Citi Open women’s doubles champion Coco Gauff will headline the 2021 Citi Open in Rock Creek Park when it returns this August.

The Citi Open, originally co-founded by tennis legend Arthur Ashe in 1969, has grown into the fifth-largest tennis tournament in the United States and one of the 25 largest in the world. This summer, DC's summer tennis tradition returns for its 52nd year and holds the distinction of being the longest-running pro tennis tournament in the same location in the United States.

Along with the usual exciting matches, this year tournament officials have announced the premiere of the Citi Open Women’s Invitational, a star-studded tennis event that will feature four of the hottest players on the WTA Tour, including rising star Coco Gauff, currently aiming to win her first major title at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships at the age of 17.

“The Citi Open has become one of the most popular stops on tour and we can’t wait to welcome back a deep field of many of the best and most popular players in the world as well as introduce the inaugural Citi Open Women’s Invitational this summer," said tournament chairman and MDE Tennis CEO Mark Ein. "Stay tuned in the days ahead for many more exciting player announcements.”

More players will be announced in the weeks that follow in the lead-up to the tournament, which will take place this year from July 31 - Aug 8, 2021.

Long-awaited single-session tickets are on sale now, with limited tickets available here. Limited tickets are available due to the demand for the return of professional tennis to Washington, and the 50% venue capacity.
