HOPE, Ark. ( KTAL/KMSS ) — One of the most anticipated events in southwest Arkansas is going on this weekend, the 48th annual Hope Watermelon Festival.

The festivities are happening at Hope Fair Park, with activities like corn-hole and softball tournaments.

There are vendors, live music, and a kid zone with camel and pony rides.

Of course, there will also be giant watermelons, watermelons for sale, watermelon-eating contests, seed-spitting contests, and more.

    Saturday is the last day.

There will be a car show and a fishing derby, and the event will culminate in a Rodney Atkins concert.
