    1 dead after driver hits parked car, flees in South Los Angeles

    A driver crashed into a parked car before fleeing the scene in South Los Angeles early Sunday morning, leaving behind a deceased passenger, according to authorities.

    The crash occurred at about 4 a.m. in the 3900 block of 3rd Avenue of the Leimert Park neighborhood of South L.A.

    According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a driver smashed into a parked, unoccupied car. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled the scene by foot.

    A passenger died after a driver hit a parked car in the Leimert Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles on Sunday morning.

    A person was later found dead in the passenger seat, police said. It’s not clear if the person had died before or after the driver fled.

    The deceased person was yet to be identified by police as of 8 a.m. Sunday.

    No additional details were immediately made available.
