    Hollywood pays tribute to James Earl Jones

    Hollywood and people around the world are remembering Hollywood legend James Earl Jones.

    The actor who brought power and bravado to his performances through a career that spanned 60 years, which included countless iconic roles from Darth Vader to Mufasa, passed away on Monday at 93 years old .

    Actor Colman Domingo posted a touching tribute to Jones on Instagram .

    “Rest. Thank you for everything,,” he wrote. “Everything. Everything. We all looked to you. Thank you King James Earl Jones. Rest well.”

    Mark Hamill, who famously played Luke Skywalk the son of Jones’ Darth Vader in the “Star Wars” franchise, posted a throwback photo of the two of them . “One of the world’s finest actors whose contributions to ‘Star Wars’ were immeasurable,” he wrote. “He’ll be greatly missed. #RIP dad.”

    Jones’ “Field of Dreams” costar, Kevin Costner, penned a heartfelt post to social media , once he learned of his passing.

    “That booming voice. That quiet strength. The kindness that he radiated. So much can be said about his legacy, so I’ll just say how thankful I am that part of it includes ‘Field of Dreams,'” he wrote.

    “If you’ve seen it, you know that this movie wouldn’t be the same with anyone else in his role. Only he could bring that kind of magic to a movie about baseball and a cornfield in Iowa. I’m grateful to have been a witness to him making that magic happen. Rest in peace, friend.”

    Disney CEO Bob Iger credited Jones for giving a “voice to some of the greatest characters in cinema history,” as he cited Mufasa from “The Lion King” and Darth Vader.

    “A celebrated stage actor with nearly 200 film and television credits to his name, the stories he brought to life with a uniquely commanding presence and a true richness of spirit have left an indelible mark on generations of audiences,” Iger said in a statement. “On behalf of all of us at Disney, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”

    LeVar Burton took to X , formerly Twitter, to honor the Emmy and Grammy winner.

    “James Earl Jones… there will never be another of his particular combination of graces,” he wrote.

    “May the force be with you,” wrote Rosario Dawson . “Rest in Power King James. THANK YOU.”

    “James Earl Jones will forever be remembered as The GOAT,” Debbie Allen posted on Instagram . “It was truly a privilege to direct him and a blessing to be loved by him. We will forever speak his name and tell the great stories that will become Legend and Myth and seed generations to come.”

    On Monday night, New York City’s Empire State Building also honored Jones by displaying his iconic walk as Darth Vader onto the building.

    Jones died at his home in Dutchess County, New York on Monday morning.
