Woman found dead on Pomona street; police investigating

Police are investigating after a woman was found dead on a Pomona street.

Officers responded to reports of a person lying on the ground near the 900 block of West Holt Avenue at around 6:40 a.m.

Arriving officers found the woman lying on the ground and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The cause of her death remains under investigation, but police confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Authorities have not released information on any possible injuries found on her body.

“Homicide Investigators from the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began an extensive investigation,” authorities said. The motive for the crime is not yet known.”
