The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found inside a home that went up in flames in Glendora early Monday morning.

The fire was reported in the 700 block of Danecroft Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m.

Los Angeles County firefighters arrived at the scene and quickly extinguished the flames.

One victim, a 71-year-old man, was found dead inside a bedroom under “suspicious” circumstances, the Sheriff’s Department said.

The county coroner confirmed that a second person, believed to be the man’s wife, also died. Their names were not immediately released.

“The couple was having marital issues, and the female had recently filed for divorce,” the sheriff’s office said.

Homicide investigators responded to the scene. However, the spokesperson said it had not been determined if a crime had occurred.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
