AirTag leads police to meth pipe-carrying bike thief: Orange PD

A college student in Orange has her bicycle back after a hidden AirTag helped officers track down and arrest the suspect over the weekend.

The incident was reported to police after the bike was stolen from the side of the victim’s home Sunday night, the Orange Police Department posted on Instagram Monday.

“Fortunately, there was an air tag hidden on the bicycle,” the post read.

Officers were quickly able to locate the bicycle in the area with the assistance of the victim and the AirTag.

The suspected bike thief, who also had a meth pipe, was found and arrested, police said.

The unidentified suspect was booked at Orange County Jail and the bike was returned to the owner.

Police posed for a picture with the victim and her bicycle and shared it on the post. An image of the suspect in handcuffs was also posted.
