Officers from the Anaheim Police Department shot and hospitalized a man they say was armed during a domestic disturbance call Monday night.

At about 8 p.m. in the 700 block of West Santa Ana Street, officers encountered 33-year-old James Brasher, with whom officers had a “confrontation,” police said in a news release.

Police did not detail what exactly occurred leading up to and during that confrontation, but Brasher was struck twice by gunfire.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and police said without elaborating that “a weapon was located at the scene.”

Upon further investigation, police found out that Brasher was on parole and listed as being “armed and dangerous.” He also had a no-bail arrest warrant issued against him.

After several hours, Brasher was released from the hospital and arrested by police on charges of felony aggravated assault, resisting an officer, violating a court order and a parole violation.

Brasher is being held at the Inmate Release Center, jail records show.

The investigation into the police shooting remains ongoing.

Who really cares? I’m sure he was turning his life around and had discovered God.
