A deadly crash is under investigation after a motorist plunged into a wash in the San Gabriel Valley overnight.

The crash occurred in the Rio Hondo wash near the eastbound 10 Freeway at Santa Anita Avenue in El Monte just before midnight Wednesday.

Video showed the vehicle landed upside down on what appeared to be a raised support structure in the wash.

Responders also searched the wash in case there were any other victims.

It was unclear if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
