The Long Beach Police Department is deploying extra resources Sunday after four separate stabbings were reported in a 12-hour period.

According to the LBPD , the first stabbing took place at 6:18 p.m. on Saturday in the 2000 block of East Pacific Coast Highway.

In that incident, a man was in a physical altercation with multiple suspects when he was stabbed multiple times in the upper body by one of them.

He was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition, LBPD stated.

Hours later, at 2:03 a.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 5100 block of 2 nd Street on reports of another stabbing.

Like the previous incident, this stabbing also stemmed from an altercation and ended with a man being stabbed in the upper body, police stated. That victim was taken to a hospital and is said to be in critical but stable condition.

Approximately 17 minutes after the stabbing on 2 nd Street, another incident was reported in the 200 block of Pine Street, this time involving three women.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that two female adult victims were in a physical altercation with a female adult suspect…the altercation escalated when the suspect stabbed each victim in the upper body,” LBPD said, adding that both women were hospitalized in stable condition.

The fourth incident occurred around 3 a.m. in the 5100 block of 2 nd Street, the same location as the second stabbing, police said; however, they learned of the incident nearly two hours later when the victim transported themself to a hospital.

“The victim was outside in a dispute with a group of female adult suspects,” authorities said.  “It escalated when one female suspect punched the victim, and a second female suspect stabbed the victim in the upper body.”

This stabbing was found to be unrelated to the previous stabbing on 2 nd Street hours prior, police confirmed.

No suspect descriptions or motives have been released regarding any of the four cases were immediately released.

Anyone with information on any of the stabbings is urged to contact the Long Beach Police Department.

Why look for suspects? They would just be released anyway.
