Two Angelenos were arrested after they allegedly followed a man back to his Chino Hills home and stole cash and large amounts of jewelry from his vehicle.

On Wednesday, the victim, whose identity has not been released, drove back from L.A. to Chino Hills “after picking up many jewelry items,” the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release .

Upon returning home, the man went inside, only to come out five minutes later to discover that his car window had been smashed and his jewelry and cash were gone.

Detectives identified two vehicles they believe were used by the thieves, and those vehicles were located and pulled over in L.A. and Beverly Hills on Friday. Yanco Maldonado, 33, and Jose Antonio Dominguez, 35, were arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary.

Maldonado and Dominguez followed the victim home from Los Angeles because they knew what was in his vehicle, a “criminal technique known as ‘Jugging,'” the release said.

Detectives added that in many cases, the thieves spot a victim at a spot like an ATM or bank, then begin following them.

Members of the public are urged to change their routes and contact law enforcement if they think they’re being followed. Additionally, they should not leave valuable items in their vehicle.

The pair was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, though they’ve since been freed on bail.

Jail records show Dominguez and Maldonado face a burglary charge, and no court appearance is scheduled. Additionally, Dominguez is also charged with criminal conspiracy and grand theft.

Don't worry, they'll never show up in court.
