The U.S. Postal Service announced its recommended mailing and shipping dates on Tuesday for the 2024 holiday season.

The following list shows the latest recommended dates for a package sent to an address in the contiguous United States to be delivered by Dec. 25:

    • USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 18
    • First-Class Mail service: Dec. 18
    • Priority Mail service: Dec. 19
    • Priority Mail Express service: Dec. 21

Despite the deadlines, the USPS urged customers to still plan ahead and ship early. “The earlier you send, the better; don’t delay — mail and ship today!”

Customers shipping to an address in Alaska or Hawaii should adhere to the following guidelines for delivery by Dec. 25:

    • USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 16
    • First-Class Mail service: Dec. 18
    • Priority Mail service: Dec. 19
    • Priority Mail Express service: Dec. 20

The USPS suggests customers check the complete list of recommended holiday mailing and shipping dates on its website for other needs, including packages to be sent to international or military addresses.
