When it comes to health and fitness tracking, Samsung has you covered.

The company has everything from the ultra-affordable to the ultra-rugged – plus a ring that can track your stats 24/7.

Their lineup starts with the $200 Galaxy Watch FE, which gives you the basics at an affordable price. You can even get a cellular version for $250.

Then there’s the Galaxy Watch 7, which has a larger screen and more battery life and costs $300.

I’ve been testing the top-of-the-line Galaxy Watch Ultra , which costs $650 but is often on sale for less.

I’ve also been testing Samsung’s Smart Ring , which costs $400.

The Ultra has a rugged circular, square design with cellular built-in – there’s also a quick button you can use to activate a workout fast.

It has Samsung’s best sensors for tracking your health and fitness stats and GPS with extra accuracy.

It’s durable to military standards and water resistant up to 330 feet.

I love the level of detail on the health and fitness stats Samsung provides – you also get sleep apnea notifications and irregular heart rate notifications.

Samsung using AI to generate a daily energy score based on your activity and sleep, plus what you can do to improve it. It’s helpful, but sometimes I worry about putting too much stock in numbers like this vs how you actually feel. A bad number might ruin your day.

Battery life is excellent on the Ultra, and while you might not want to wear it to bed (or any smart watch), that’s where the Galaxy Ring comes in.

It packs tiny tracking sensors to monitor fitness and sleep and it’s comfortable enough to wear 24/7. In my testing, the battery lasts nearly a week.

The ring comes in a unique wireless charging case with a light that lets you know how much battery is left, or you can check your phone.

Both the watch and ring let you do pinch gestures to take a picture and more. It’s handy if you remember to use it.

The ring has no speaker or microphone, but you can use Find My on the phone to flash the lights to locate it. I wish it would vibrate to alert me of new notifications.

The nice thing about the Samsung Ring is that unlike its biggest competitor Oura, there are no monthly subscription fees. It’s also eligible for reimbursement through flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA).

Bottom line: if you’re in the Samsung ecosystem and want to track your stats 24/7, you’ve got lots of options. The watch and ring will work together to collect stats no matter how you wear them – Samsung is using some back-end smarts to use the “better” data to craft your stats if you’re wearing both devices at the same time, and you’ll notice better battery life too.
