Police are searching for a suspect who escaped with $18,000 worth of jewelry using a stolen credit card in Orange County.

On Sept. 27, the male suspect stole a victim’s credit card from their locker at an Equinox gym in Irvine.

The thief used the credit card to purchase $18,000 worth of jewelry at a nearby mall, Irvine police said. He attempted to buy around $11,000 worth of clothing at another store but the transaction was declined.

He fled the area driving what police believe was a black Infiniti QX60 SUV.

Surveillance images of the suspect were released in hopes the public may recognize the man.

Anyone who knows the suspect or has information on the case is asked to email detlinger@cityofirvine.org.
