2 men shot, 1 dead in South Los Angeles

A shooting in the area of South Los Angeles on Saturday night left one man dead and another injured, according to authorities.

The shooting was reported at about 7:20 p.m. in the 9400 block of South Normandie Avenue, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department .

Upon arrival, deputies found two men with gunshot wounds to their upper torsos. They were transported to a local hospital, where one was later pronounced dead.

He was identified only as a Black man. His identity was not yet released by authorities as of Sunday morning.

The other man was listed in stable condition.

Authorities are investigating the nature of the shooting. There are no suspects outstanding, officials said, and the weapons used were recovered at the scene.
