A person was transported to a local trauma center after a rock slide landed on and crushed a van in San Bernardino County on Friday morning.

The county’s fire department confirmed the incident in a post to X , formerly Twitter, just before 9 a.m. The rock slide took place at mile marker 19 on Highway 18, which is located near Arrowhead Heights.

One person was extricated and transported by ambulance to a trauma center. Their condition was not immediately made available.

Photos from the scene showed the front end of a van completely crushed by the apparent slide, with a large boulder appearing to land directly on the vehicle.

Delays are expected on the highway as crews work to clean the scene. No additional details were immediately made available.

I hope this driver is at the upmost unharmed and uninjured by this bizarre incident. By the look of this picture they would be lucky to be alive as they survived this. It looks like that boulder just missed their body and it could’ve been even more devastating and near fatal for the drivers life!
