A high school in Southern California canceled a rally on Friday after a threat was posted on social media, but officials say the campus is currently safe and secure.

Yucaipa High School canceled the rally after a social media post with a photo of the gun essentially told the poster’s friends to skip the rally, because they were going to “unload” a magazine there.

The post was published by an unknown source.

In an email sent out to parents, Yucaipa High School said the rally was canceled out of an abundance of caution, but there was “currently no threat” to the campus and the safety of students and staff. The school said it’s cooperating with law enforcement to investigate the tip.

There was no word as of Friday afternoon as to whether the person who made the post had been identified by law enforcement.

School remained open on Friday. The police presence was raised on campus in response to the threat.

No additional details were immediately made available.

    I'm just curious 🤔 : at what point did "a well-ordered militia " devolve into " any psychotic a-hole with a credit card" ?
