    Immunize El Paso offers vaccination clinics ahead of graduations

    EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – El Paso area residents are invited for immunization clinic to protect against Meningococcal disease which cause swelling of the brain and spine. This mobile clinic was made possible thanks to the partnership of Immunize El Paso and Clint High School.

    Meningococcal disease is a severe, life-threatening illness with rapid onset and progression of symptoms. Fatality rates can be as high as 10%–20 and 11%–19% of survivors have loss of limbs, deafness, and seizures according to the Center for Disease Control.

    Symptoms include:

    • Fever

    • Headache

    • Stiff neck • Nausea

    • Vomiting

    • Photophobia (eyes being more sensitive to light)

    • Altered mental status (confusion)

    The immunization clinic will be held on Wednesday May 22, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Clint High School, located at 13890 Alameda Ave.

Through community outreach, education, and advocacy, Immunize El Paso strives to ensure that all residents are protected against preventable diseases.
