EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Border Patrol agents working in the Las Cruces area found and “rescued” 15 migrants from a stash house recently, according to the Border Patrol’s El Paso Sector Chief Anthony “Scott” Good on his X account.

The Border Patrol’s Las Cruces Anti-Smuggling Unit worked with New Mexico State Police and the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office during the operation. Good did not say where the stash house was or when this operation happened. He also did not say if any arrests were made.

“Smugglers carelessly force, extort & overcrowd migrants inside houses,” Good said in his tweet.

So far in Fiscal Year 2024, 244 stash houses have been found with 2,389 apprehensions in the El Paso Sector, which includes all of New Mexico, Good said on X.
