EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Tuesday marked the 2024 NFL roster cut deadline, one of the most cutthroat days for many hopeful players that will be released by teams across the league.

NFL teams must cut down their rosters from 90 players to 53 for the regular season.

Several products with ties to UTEP landed spots on NFL teams’ 53-man roster, and some missed the cut.

Aaron Jones is one of two running backs on the Minnesota Vikings’ initial 53-man roster. This will be Jones’ first season with the Vikings.

There’s defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris who is on the Jacksonville Jaguars 53-man roster for the 2024 season.

Offensive lineman Will Hernandez is on the Arizona Cardinals’ 53-man roster.

2024 NFL draft class members Elijah Klein (Tampa Bay); Tyrice Knight (Seattle); and Jacob Cowing (San Francisco) all landed spots on their respective NFL team’s initial 53-man roster.

2024 undrafted rookie Andrew Meyer earned a spot on Miami’s initial 53-man roster.

Nik Needham was released by the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday.

Other former Miner football players to be cut by NFL teams are quarterback Gavin Hardison (Miami) and OL Zuri Henry (New England).
