EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the Socorro Police Deparment are looking for your help to find out who shot and wounded a man at a park in Socorro back in June.

This is this week’s featured “Crime of the Week,” as publicized by Crime Stoppers.

At about 11:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, the Socorro Police Department responded to a shooting call at Cougar Park, 10664 Socorro Rd.

Officers learned that the victim had entered the park with his family. Moments later, two vehicles entered the park and began driving recklessly inside, Crime Stoppers said.

According to witnesses, during that time, occupants from each vehicles fired handguns multiple times, wounding the victim, Crime Stoppers said.

Both vehicles fled the scene after the shooting, going westbound towards El Paso.  The first vehicle is a newer model, gray-colored Dodge Charger.  The second car is a maroon, Nissan sedan.  Investigators know that someone has information as to who was involved in this shooting.

At the time of the shooting, there were multiple people at the park.

Anyone with any information on this shooting should call Crime Stoppers of El Paso immediately at (915) 566-8477 (TIPS) or visit online at www.cselpaso.org . You will remain anonymous, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you may qualify for a cash reward.
