EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Texas Culinary Insitute chefs visited the KTSM 9 News morning crew to share a simple and different ceviche recipe you can serve at your Sunday football get-togethers.

Chefs Yvonne Rojas Enriquez and Fernando Ramos came up with a simple list of ingredients you’ll need to make this ceviche:

    – Avocado
    – Purple onion
    – Jalapenos (or pepper of choice, depending on spice level preference)
    – Granny Smith apple
    – Lime juice
    – Cooked Shrimp (can substitute with seafood of your preference such as tuna)

Measure ingredients at your discretion based on needs and preferences.

Chop all ingredients into similarly sized pieces and mix together with lime juice adding salt, pepper, and optional black onion powder we used in the segment.

    Serve with tostadas.

It’s the perfect recipe to make for bigger groups of people and include the whole family in making it.

Texas Culinary Institute Chef Fernando Ramos will be making a similar creation with only Chihuahuan desert ingredients at the One Region, One Table event on Saturday, September 14.

The event will gather about a dozen chefs from the Borderland who will be making their dishes in the heart of Downtown El Paso.

You can find more information and tickets on the event’s official website.
