EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — El Paso was represented in Arlington, Texas at the Dallas Cowboys’ game on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 15.

El Paso Police Department officers attended the game pitting the Dallas Cowboys against New Orleans Saints to help carry the U.S. flag onto the field for the national anthem, according to the department’s Facebook page.

EPPD was among different agencies and departments that were honored as part of a first responder appreciation event, according to EPPD’s Instagram.

“Whether you’re a Cowboys fan or not, it’s always awesome to see El Paso’s finest representing the 915 across the nation,” El Paso Police said in their Facebook post.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said that it had deputies and detention offiers who also attended the Cowboys’ game and took the field during the national anthem as part of the ceremony.

“In a heartfelt tribute, our deputies and officers held the giant flag in front of thousands of fans, showcasing their commitment to protecting and serving the community. This occasion was made even more significant as it fell on ‘915 Day,’ a cherished El Paso tradition celebrating the vibrant culture and spirit of our city,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
