    Week 5 #9OT Game of the Week: Hanks vs. Andress

    EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The 2024 Week 5 9 Overtime of Game of the Week is a District 1-5A Division II matchup between the Hanks Knights and Andress Eagles on Friday night.

    Hanks, led by head coach Scott Veliz, is undefeated three games into the 2024 season. The Knights are off to a 3-0 start to a season for the first time since 2019. Hanks will look to improve to 4-0 for the first time since 2014.

    Hanks sophomore quarterback Jordan Morales has been solid for the Knights this season. Morales has completed 46-of-77 passes for 815 yards in three games played this season. Morales can also extend plays as he has rushed for 161 yards so far this season.

    Sophomore running back Dean Deucher is Hanks’ top running back. He’s rushed for 268 yards on 52 carries in three games played. Junior wide receiver Deonte Wensel is Knights’ top wide receiver. He has collected 357 receiving yards on 16 receptions, four of them being touchdown catches.

    Senior linebacker Kris Ramirez leads the Knights’ defense in total tackles with 32 of them.

    Andress (1-3, 1-1 District 1-5A DII) is looking for redemption after a 54-8 loss to Chapin last Friday.

    Andress sophomore quarterback Jamari Milton is the leader of the offense. Milton has completed 71-of-116 pass attempts for 874 yards and has thrown eight touchdown passes four games into the season.

    Senior running back Marcus Wilson and sophomore running back Carmelo Jones have been solid in the backfield for the Eagles. Senior wide receiver Jared Gordon has been Milton’s top target as he has collected 284 receiving yards on 26 catches and two touchdown receptions.

    Hanks and Andress will go head-to-head on Friday. Kickoff at Andress High School is at 7:00 p.m. MT. Later that night, you can catch highlights of the game on 9 Overtime. Show airs at 10:15 p.m. MT on KTSM.
