    1 person dead in crash involving pedestrian in Lower Valley

    UPDATE: Traffic along Alameda at Manor Place reopened in both directions at about 2 a.m. Wednesday morning, TxDOT said.

    EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — One person is dead in a crash involving a pedestrian in El Paso’s Lower Valley on Tuesday night, Sept. 24, police said.

    The crash happened along the 7200 block of Alameda Avenue. That’s near Ascarate Park.

    Police said there is one confirmed fatality. They did not say who was killed or what led up to the crash.

    Alameda is shut down in both directions at the cash site, police said.

    TxDOT says all lanes in both directors are closed along Alameda between Manor Place and Coronado. Clearing time is until further notice. Minor backup is being report.

    Special Traffic Investigations is at the scene, looking into what led up to the crash.
