    Public invited to groundbreaking ceremony of Fire Station No. 38

    EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — The public is invited to the groundbreaking ceremony of Fire Station No. 38 in far East El Paso.

    The celebration will happen at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 at the 14300 block of Pebble Hills Blvd. near Tim Foster, according to the news release by the City of El Paso.

    Fire Station No. 38 will span more than 9,000 square feet and will feature the following services and amenities:

    • Three emergency vehicle parking bays with vehicle exhaust ventilation system
    • Dispatch office and Information Technology server room
    • Medical supply/equipment storage
    • Decontamination shower room and unisex restrooms with showers
    • Public restrooms, dormitory and industrial laundry facility
    • Food preparation/service area, and a cold and dry food storage
    • Fitness area
    • Public restrooms and lobby

    The project will cost approximately $5.4 million to build and is managed by the City’s Capital Improvement Department, according to the City.

    The project is under the voter-approved Public Safety Bond in part of the City’s “commitment to maintaining its standing as one of the nation’s safest cities, taking proactive approaches to prevent fire/medical incidents, and improving public safety operational efficiencies,” the City said.
