    Pedestrian dies after being struck twice in Lower Valley

    EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — A 34-year-old El Paso man is dead after he was struck twice while crossing the road Tuesday night, Sept. 24, in El Paso’s Lower Valley, according to El Paso Police.

    Police say at around 7:30 p.m., Emmanuel Torres, 34, was crossing the 7200 block of Alameda Avenue when he was struck by a pickup truck.

    Torres was knocked to the ground and was then struck again by another pickup truck.

    Police say the driver of the second pickup truck fled the scene and Torres died at the scene.

    Anyone who has information on this crash or the whereabouts of the second pickup truck should call police at the non-emergency number (915) 832-4400 or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-TIPS (8477).

    This is the 47th traffic fatality this year compared to 55 at this time in 2023.
