EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) El Paso has released a list of road closures for the week of Oct. 4, that could affect your commute.
I-10 Widening West
69-hour closure
Monday, Oct. 7 at 9 a.m., through Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6 a.m.
- Westbound Exit 6A (Loop 375/Spur 16/Transmountain Road) will be closed.
Detour: Take Exit 8 (SH 178/Artcraft Road/Paseo del Norte), continue on North Desert Boulevard, and turn left or right on Transmountain Road.
Crews will be installing metal beam guard fence.
Monday, Oct. 7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- I-10 West will be closed at Sunland Park Drive.
Detour: Take Exit 13 (Sunland Park Drive), continue on the Collector/Distributor (C/D) lanes to North Desert Boulevard, and re-enter I-10 past Mesa Street.
Crews will be placing temporary concrete safety barriers.
Monday, Oct. 7 through Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- I-10 East and West will be reduced to one lane between Vinton Road and Transmountain Road as needed.
Crews will be working on retaining walls.
Monday, Oct. 7, through Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- I-10 East and West will be reduced to one lane between Mesa Street and Redd Road.
Crews will be conducting earth work.
Guardrail Repair Project
Monday, Oct. 7.
- US-62 (Paisano) between Overland and Santa Fe left lane closed.
Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- US-54 northbound (CD Lanes) between Yandell and Pershing left lane closed.
Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- I-10 westbound at Copia exit complete closure.
Thursday, October 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- I-10 eastbound after Copia exit right shoulder closed.
Spall Repair Project
Sunday, Oct. 6 through Thursday, Oct. 10 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Nightly)
- I-10 westbound between McRae overpass and Mesa Park overpass alternate lane closures.
Crews will be working on spall repairs.
US-62 Rehabilitation Project
Sunday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 11 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Nightly)
- Montana (US-62) eastbound alternating lane closures Geronimo Drive to Airways Boulevard.
Monday, Oct. 7 through Friday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Daily)
- Montana (US-62) eastbound alternating lane closures Geronimo Drive to Airways Boulevard.
Sunday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 11. Continuous Closure (9 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
- East Paisano (US-62) eastbound right and middle lane closures Geronimo Drive to Airways Boulevard.
Crews will be milling and paving. Expect delays and intermittent cross-street and driveway closures during milling and paving activities. If possible, seek alternate routes. Please remember those residential / business access locations may be temporarily shifted due to milling/paving activities.
Pedestrian Facilities Improvement Project
Monday, Oct. 7 through Friday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- US-62 (Paisano) west- and eastbound between Boone and Val Verde right lane closed.
Crews will be working on demolition of guardrails, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalks, and fencing.
- BU-54 (Dyer) west- and eastbound between Titanic and Hercules left lane closed
Crews will be working on median improvements.
- SL-478 (Dyer) west- and eastbound between Ellerthorpe and Julian right lane closed.
Crews will be working on trenching for conduit installation.
Sunday, Oct. 6 through Saturday, Oct. 12. Continuous closure.
- BU 54 (Dyer) west- and eastbound between Gateway North at Hercules full closure.
Crews will be working on median improvements.
ITS Infra at Zaragoza/BOTA POE
Monday, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- I-10 westbound at Haskins right lane with shoulder closure.
Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- I-10 eastbound at Zaragoza right lane with shoulder closure.
Thursday, Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Loop 375 westbound at San Marcial two right lanes on Loop 375 westbound and one left lane on Delta closure.
Crews will be installing CCTVs.
Mill and Inlay from Mesa Street to Sunland Park Avenue
Sunday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Night work)
- I-10 west- and eastbound between Sunland and Mesa alternate lane closures.
Crews will be working on asphalt patch work.
Maintenance
Sunday, Oct. 6 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- US-54 southbound between Yandell and I-10 complete freeway closure.
- Exit Ramp D / Exit 21A (US-54 south to I-10 east) and exit at Trowbridge and use turnaround, onto I-10 west and exit Ramp F (I-10 west to Juarez I-110).
Crews will be working on bridge joints.
Monday, Oct. 7 through Friday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- I-10 eastbound between Santa Fe and Missouri right lane closed.
- Kansas entrance ramp closed to I-10 eastbound.
Crews will be re-installing concrete barrier walls.
- Gateway east- and west between Chelsea and McRae alternate lane closures.
- I-10 east at Hawkins and Viscount exits closed.
Crews will be cleaning.
Please follow the detour signs in place on all projects. All work is dependent upon weather conditions.
Purple Heart 375 Widening Project
Friday, Sept. 27 to Saturday, Oct. 12. Daily, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Purple Heart Highway (SL 375) northbound left lane closure from Montana Avenue to Iron Medics Drive.
Crews will be paving in median.
Loop 375 Widening Project
Monday, Oct. 7 to Thursday, Oct. 10. Nightly, 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
- Americas Highway (SL 375) northbound main lane closure between Zaragoza (POE) overpass and North Loop overpass.
Crews will be installing concrete rip rap along medians.
Continuous closure, beginning Monday, Oct. 7 to Friday, Oct. 11.
- Americas Avenue (frontage road) southbound left lane and south to north turnaround UPRR Bridge underpass at North Loop Road.
- Americas Avenue (frontage road) northbound, north to south turnaround UPRR Bridge underpass at Alameda Avenue.
Crews will be working on installation of curb/sidewalk, guardrail, and concrete barrier.
SH 20 Alameda Mill and Inlay Project
Sunday, Oct. 6 to Thursday, Oct. 10. Nightly, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Alameda Avenue (SH-20) east- and westbound alternate lane closures between Padres Drive and North Carolina Drive.
Crews will be milling and paving.
Horizon (FM1281)/Darrington Reconstruction Project
Sunday, Oct. 6 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Horizon Boulevard (FM1281) at Darrington Road east- and westbound full intersection closure.
Crews will be working on placement of barrier walls, traffic signal set up, and striping.
Sunday, Oct. 6 to Friday, Oct. 24. Continuous closure beginning at 5 p.m.
- Darrington Road northbound lane closure and traffic switch to two-way traffic between Pawling Drive and Delake Drive.
Crews will be paving.
SL 375 Mill and Inlay Project
Sunday, Oct. 6 to Thursday, Oct. 10. Nightly, 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Joe Battle Boulevard (frontage road) north- and southbound alternating lane closures between Pellicano Drive and Montana Avenue.
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane in work areas.
Crews will be pouring concrete sidewalks in the shoulders and striping at intersections controlled by Temporary Traffic Signals.
I- 10 Landscape & Aesthetics Project
Friday, Oct. 4 to Friday, Oct. 11. Daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- I-10 eastbound at Lee Trevino underpass right lane and shoulder closed.
- Gateway East at Lee Trevino left lane closed.
- I-10 westbound at Lee Trevino underpass right lane and shoulder closed.
Crews will be removing concrete riprap.
