EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — El Paso Police said they have responded to a potential water rescue on Saturday morning, Oct. 5 along the border near UTEP.

Police said they responded at about 8:15 a.m. to the 1700 block of West Paisano Drive to the reports of a water rescue.

El Paso Fire said they did respond to a potential water rescue, but they say it is now being called a “crime scene.” Police are at the scene, they said.

This is an area where migrants have been known to cross the border and a place where other water rescues/recovery operations have happened.

This is a developing story and we will update it when we learn more.
