EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – Mark Lambie is originally from the Borderland. For a few years his family has lived in Port Richey, Florida.

Last month, the family of four had to evacuate their home after Hurricane Helene moved through Florida.

Now, they are having to do it again, as Hurricane Milton heads to Florida, with landfall expected on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

“For me, things don’t matter that much. But watching my kids lose their cars and motorcycles and their clothing and their, you know, some of their clothing and a lot of most of their belongings and things like that, that’s really hard, as a father,” Lambie said.

During Hurricane Helene, Lambie and his family did not evacuate right away.

“It scared the hell out of us. I don’t want to see their faces like that again. So I just decided, there’s nothing left of the house we’re already in. All our belongings are soaked and gone,” Lambie said.

The Lambies are now at an Airbnb with plans of staying with a friend until the next storm passes. A few family friends set up a GoFundMe to help during this time.

Lambie says he grateful for the support he and his family have gotten especially coming from his hometown of El Paso.

“We would be nowhere without that money from our El Paso friends and our El Paso loved ones and, that El Paso hug that you feel, man, it goes far and wide, yet it is beautiful,” Lambie said.
