    El Paso Chamber to host candidate forum for mayoral race

    EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – The El Paso Chamber will host a forum on Wednesday, Oct. 16 featuring candidates in the El Paso mayoral race.

    The forum will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at the DeadBeach Brewery located at 3200 Durazno Ave., according to a news release sent by the Chamber.

    The Chamber said the community will have the opportunity to connect with the candidates, hear their visions for the future and ask questions about issues that matter most to the community.

    Candidates for El Paso Mayor include businessman Renard Johnson, City Rep. for District 5 Isabel Salcido, Army retiree Steven Winters, City Rep. for District 3 Cassandra Hernandez, City Rep. for District 1 Brian Kennedy, magazine owner Elizabeth Cordova, restaurant owner Marco Contreras and Ben Mendoza.

    However, confirmed candidates attending the forum include Hernandez, Kennedy, Salcido and Johnson.

    “Attendees will be able to engage in meaningful discussions, learn more about each candidate’s platform and understand their priorities for the growth and development of El Paso. This forum is an essential stop for anyone interested in the future of our city,” read the news release.
