ORIGINAL: EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — A 22-year-old man was killed when he was speeding on his motorcycle, failed to navigate a curve and was thrown from his bike, El Paso Police said.

The crash happened at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 along the 1900 block of Airway in East El Paso.

Police said Alexis Montalvo, 22 of Fort Bliss, was driving westbound on Airway at a “high rate of speed.”

He lost control around a curve and struck a traffic sign, police said.
