EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – The community is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS) Family Support Center (FSC) happening this week.

The event will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 at 505 S. Main St., Suite 249, according to a news release sent by the LCPS.

“As students struggle to regain their academic footing following the COVID-19 pandemic, the FSC will serve as a resource hub for our students and families most in need and will provide a place for families to come together, share experiences and access critical local resources,” read the news release.

In addition, Mesilla Mayor Russell Hernandez is expected to speak, along with Las Cruces Mayor Eric Enriquez. Other special guests are expected, as well as music from Las Cruces High School’s Mariachi Diamante.

Well, that was an empty article. More like another self-promotion for our local leaders.

Should LCPS be spending money on this nonsense, when the proficiency at Mayfield in Math is 6%? LCPS’s academic performance is dismal.
