Tonight presents our best chance for measurable rainfall in a while, especially between 6 p.m. and midnight. It’s also the last night of the supermoon, which is when the full moon is closest to the Earth in its orbit. We may bet to enjoy both!

Weather Watcher Brenda George sent in a picture of a Border Patrol agent in Arizona gazing at the supermoon. Brenda’s daughter took the picture and is also a Border Patrol agent, and we thank them both for their service.

TONIGHT:  The skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated t-showers. Some individual cells may produce some brief, heavy rainfall. The south winds will range from 5-15 mph, and the low will drop to 58.

FORECAST: Friday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with much warmer winds. The SW winds will gust to near 30 mph and the high will pop back up to 83. On Saturday, a powerful low-pressure system sits over Arizona. We’ll get mostly cloudy skies, gusty winds to 35 mph, a high of 75, and a few raindrops here and there. Sunday will be sunny and beautiful with a high of 80. Monday will be sunny and 84. Tuesday will be partly cloudy and 89 with isolated late-day t-showers. Wednesday will be partly cloudy and 88 with a slight chance of an isolated area storm.
