BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Central Oregon is at the center of a social media controversy following hundreds of calls for action from across the country to the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office.

Convicted sex offender Jesse Stark, going by "Black Sheep Tiny House" on social media, was reported to be living in La Pine and creating videos on social media, sharing his conviction and about relations with a minor female that have disturbed, even angered many viewers.

The sheriff's office told NewsChannel 21 they've received hundreds of calls from across the country reporting Stark is in the county and urging some sort of action about the postings.

The email went on to say authorities don't think Stark is in Deschutes County any more. But social media watchers say the locations in his posts indicate he recorded them in La Pine. One said he had also recently been spotted in Chemult, in northern Klamath County.

Stark was convicted in a 2012 plea agreement of attempted sexual assault of a minor in Portland.

According to court documents from the 2012 Multnomah County case, Stark was put on the sex offender registry for 10 years.

The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office says he does not appear on the site now, as he's no longer on parole. Oregon law states there are no conditions or restrictions for sex offenders who were previously on the registry

Before being banned, his social media account had amassed over 100,000 followers and a million likes as he recounted details of his conviction.
