A paws-itively wonderful time was had by all at this year’s Great Bark Bash dog races

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Sunday, the final day of this year's Bend Fall Festival, featured a real crowd favorite: The second annual Great Bark Bash. The event at Troy Field featured three tail-wagging dog races and a few other fun events for all breeds and the people who love them.

The "Running of the Bulldogs" was first out the gate and featured last year's champion, "Booker" the English Bulldog. He did not disappoint and barreled his way to first place again this year.

The Corgi Crush was a new event this year and was a wild run. The Corgi is a herding breed, so it was more of a battle than a race. The winner was Daisy, who was a feisty canine who pushed her way to the finish line for the blue ribbon.

The featured race, the Wiener Dog race, was the most energetic, with several heats leading to an exciting final heat. The winner this year was a cream-colored dachshund named Woody, who beat out nearly 20 other competitors for the title of fastest wiener dog in Bend.

There were also winners in the fastest eating event, the coolest tricks and of course a costume contest.

NewsChannel 21's own John Carroll and Lyndsey Harris helped emcee the event, along with JD Platts, who runs a K9 Kings Entertainment flying dog show company.
