Suspect arrested after shooting at 7-Eleven in Kyle
KYLE, Texas — Kyle police have arrested a suspect after a shooting at a 7-Eleven convenience store off Interstate Highway 35 on Monday afternoon. The Kyle Police Department said just before 5 p.m., officers were called to a report of a shooting at the 7-Eleven at 20925 I-35, near a KFC restaurant.

AUSTIN, Texas — Gov. Greg Abbott wants to build more natural gas power plants in Texas to keep up with rising demand on the grid. Last month, the CEO of ERCOT said Texas will need more power to properly support our power grid by the year 2030. Pablo Vegas estimates that in six years, Texas will need 150,000 megawatts to power the grid. Right now, Texas has about 85,000 megawatts of power available, including wind, solar, coal, nuclear and natural gas.

LULING, Texas — The site of the former Buc-ee's gas station in Luling caught fire Monday morning, the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management said. Buc-ee's opened a brand new location next door to the original gas station just three weeks ago, and since then, crews have been doing demolition at the old site. It was not immediately clear whether the demolition process led to the fire, according to a report from the Gonzales Inquirer.
