MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — One high school band teacher in the Magic City showed KX News what he’s been doing to prepare for the school year.

Evan Meiers is a fifth-year band teacher and he’s also a grain farmer when not teaching at Minot High School.

Meiers has spent the majority of the summer coordinating with music staff to make sure there is enough equipment for his students, as well as finding musical arrangements that can accommodate how many students he plans on having in his classroom.

Meiers expressed that without the collaboration of all teachers and faculty, nothing could be accomplished.

“There are folks that have been here all summer, especially for these big changes like our custodians our administrative assistants. Those are the real heroes this summer, to get stuff moved for us in place and help us get ready,” said Evan Meirs, the band director at Minot High School.

Meiers is expecting anywhere from 50 to 150 students in his band class this year.

Evan is a great human. My kids loved having him for a band instructor.
