Football: Bishop Ryan Lions take the field for day 1 under 1st year Head Coach Pat Hardy

MINOT, N.D.– The Bishop Ryan Lions are looking to take it a step further in the 2024 season. The Lions finished last year with a 5-5 record and was able to finish 3rd in the district. The Lions welcome in first year Head Coach Pat Hardy in a brand new era, but with some hello’s come some goodbye’s. So, while one era is beginning another one will end.

“I woke up this morning to my alarm and I was like begging of the end is the first thing that came to my mind. It’s my final ride and I’ve been doing this now starting since i was a freshman, so it’s kind of bittersweet but you know I’m happy to be out here with the guys. It’s just a grind. That’s what makes it fun right? Not everything is going to be easy and that’s what’s fun about it it’s a grind and just having your brothers back and battling through these two a days that’s what makes it enjoyable and something to remember”, said Jett Lundeen.

With a new era kicking off for the Bishop Ryan Football program, that means that there will be a huge learning curve for these student athletes, but after day one, the Lions seem to have a grasp on the new system.

“We’re all about effort and intensity because if you do those two things well, you’ll be in every football game. Like I touched on we got a lot of new things going in and with that is a big learning curve and the kids handled it very well for day one. I honestly was not expecting that much improvement already, so that’s always an exciting thing”, said Head Coach Pat Hardy.
