    Minot bus drivers prepare for upcoming school year

    MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — While many people take the summer off, Minot Public School bus drivers have been getting ready.

    With the many changes happening within the Minot School District, bus drivers have been preparing all summer long.

    One of the changes includes a shuttle bus that will run from Minot North High School to Minot High School.

    And, there’s also a brand new English Second Language Program that will have two routes in the district as well.

    All this while being able to accommodate all children in the district with special needs. School officials say being able to learn the area is how you succeed as a bus driver.

    “We’ll have drivers out and about to check the routes just to become familiar. I got new drivers so they have to become familiar. A lot of the routes, we have bus aides so they can help the driver,” said Barry Brooks, the director of transportation for Minot Public Schools.

    The Minot School District is expected to bus more than 40 students for its inaugural English Second Language Program.
