    Catch the start of the high school rodeo season

    MANDAN, ND ( KXNET ) — The North Dakota High School Rodeo Association is hosting its competitions over the weekend.

    The competitions are held by the Mandan Horse and Saddle Club on August 17 and 18 at the Dale Pahlke Arena on the Dakota Community Bank and Trust Rodeo Grounds.

    House prep for parents: Back to school organization

    The rodeo begins with cattle cutting from 7-9 a.m. on Saturday, with the rest of the day being rodeo running, roughly from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Sunday, you can catch the rodeo from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    There will be about 150 contestants from all over the state competing in bull riding, bareback riding, breakaway roping, tie-down roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, goat tying, team roping, and pole bending.
