MINOT, N.D.– There’s no place quite like home, and Bishop Ryan’s basketball star Ramsey Walz has decided that he will continue his athletic career at Minot State University.

It was all a dream for the 6’7 teenager, and growing up as a kid Walz would attend MSU basketball games often.

“I’ve always been looking at them for a while going to there games when i was younger. When they offered me last spring it was a pretty big deal”, said Ramsey Walz.

Even with Ramsey Walz shining at Bishop Ryan, he never stop attending Minot State games and says that it was the local guys from off of last years Beavers team, who may have had an influence on his decision.

“I just hope to bring like that home grown. The two local guys that they had last year, Ben and Jaxson Gunville, I feel like they just had so much more people from the Magic City area at their games, so I feel like especially with three North Dakota guys coming in that class, I feel like it’ll just bring even more people to the games from the area”, said Walz.

With his commitment made and heading into his senior year, Ramsey Walz says that he’s too blessed to be stressed.

“Last year I was stressing a little bit about that because I’m like after AAU all the coaches know about me, so they would watch how I do in high school and how I respond to players in high school and stuff. Then I got injured twice last year, so last year was pretty stressful, but the year ended good you could say, but now this year it just feels like a weight being lifted off of my shoulders and I can just play free. Especially for football too, I fell like I don’t even have to worry about anything because I’m already committed to a school. Basketball as well, but there’s only one goal left and that’s to win a state championship, so I hope to bring that to the table”, said Walz.
