LAMOURE COUNTY, ND ( KXNET ) — A man and his passenger were injured after overturning a UTV in a field.

According to North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 30-year-old man from Ypsilanti was driving a CFmoto UTV in a muddy field about 8 miles from Kathryn just before 4:30 p.m.

The man last control of the UTV, causing it to overturn and come to a rest on its top.

Patrol says the man was not wearing a seat belt, and neither was his 36-year-old female passenger.

The woman sustained what authorities are calling serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in Valley City.

The man was also injured and is facing charges of driving under influence and criminal vehicular injury.
