    Driver leads police on I-94 high-speed chase from MN to ND

    MAPLETON, ND ( KXNET ) — A 30-year-old man led authorities in two states on an I-94 high-speed chase until he was finally caught near Mapleton.

    According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the situation began Sunday, August 18, when a driver in a stolen Audi tried to outrun the Minnesota Highway Patrol.

    The driver entered North Dakota around 9:40 p.m. on Interstate 94 and fled west at a high rate of speed.

    The North Dakota Highway Patrol pursued the driver west until the vehicle was forced to stop in a field about three miles northwest of Mapleton.

    The driver was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fleeing, aggravated reckless driving and DUI/refusal.

    The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
